Invest In Alternative Energy With This Wind Power ETF (FAN)

June 25th, 2009

wind-powerWind power is a great way to obtain energy through mother nature.  It provides clean energy to produce electricity using turbines.  Wind power is gaining popularity and several wind farms are now in existence.  Wind power today only accounts for 1.5 % of global energy consumption.  This provides substantial room for growth in future years ahead.

The concept of wind energy is growing so quickly that “The global wind energy industry has seen record breaking growth over the last few years and is now used in more than 70 countries, with the U.S. and China leading the way,” Reports Ted Peroulakis from Contrarian Profits.

There are drawbacks to the wind power farms, as large fan like structures make land an eyesore when they are built.  Land owners are always a fighting the idea of wind farms, as they do not want the structures to be their neighbors.
