Vanguard’s Rick Genoni Discusses Seven New Bond ETFs

Rick Genoni discusses Vanguard’s seven  new bond ETFs with Scott Burns of Morningstar. Vanguard launched seven new bond products last November, bringing their total lineup of Bond ETFs to 12. All are based on Barclays Capital US Aggregate Bond Market. It’s three corporates, three governments, and one mortgage-backed. The funds are: Vanguard Short-Term Government Bond Index Fund (VGSH) tracks the U.S. 1–3 Year Government Float Adjusted Index, Vanguard Intermediate-Term Government Bond Index Fund (VGIT) tracks the U.S. 3-10 Year Government Float Adjusted Index, Vanguard Long-Term Government Bond Index Fund (VGLT) tracks the U.S. Long Government Float Adjusted Index, Vanguard Short-Term Corporate Bond Index Fund (VCSH) tracks the U.S. 1–5 Year Corporate Index, Vanguard Intermediate-Term Corporate Bond Index Fund (VCIT) tracks the U.S. 5–10 Year Corporate Index, Vanguard Long-Term Corporate Bond Index Fund (VCLT) tracks the U.S.Long Corporate Index, Vanguard Mortgage-Backed Securities Index Fund (VMBS) tracks the U.S. MBS Float Adjusted Index.
