Thursday March 25th ETF Movers: BDH, PBTQ
In midday trading Thursday, the Broadband HOLDRS ETF (BDH) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 4.4% on the day. And underperforming other ETFs today is the PowerShares Global Biotech ETF (PBTQ), off about 1.4% in Thursday afternoon trading. See the full video below:
About Broadband HOLDRS ETF (BDH):
The investment seeks to diversify your investment in the broadband business through a single, exchange-listed instrument representing your undivided beneficial ownership of the underlying securities. The trust holds shares of common stock issued by specified companies that, when initially selected, were involved in the broadband industry. Except when a reconstitution event, distribution of securities by an underlying issuer or other event occurs, the group of companies will not change. There are currently 22 companies included in the Broadband HOLDRS.
About PowerShares Global Biotech ETF (PBTQ):
The investment seeks to replicate, net of expenses, the NASDAQ OMX Global Biotechnology Index. The fund normally invests at least 90% of assets in the securities and ADRs and GDRs based on the securities that comprise the underlying index. It normally invests at least 80% of its total assets in securities of companies involved in the biotechnology industry. The index is designed to measure the overall performance of globally traded securities of the largest and most liquid companies involved in the biotechnology industry. The fund is nondiversified.
