In trading on Friday, the iPath S&P 500 VIX Short Term Futures ETN (VXX) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 6.5% on the day. Also up on the day is the ProShares Short Financials (SEF) 4.11%.

And underperforming other ETFs today is the Direxion Daily Natural Gas Related Bear 2x ETF (FCGL), off about 8.02% in Friday afternoon trading. Also down on the day is the SPDR KBW Bank ETF (KBE) down 5.61%, and the ETFS Physical Palladium Shares (PALL) which was down 4.58%.
