Dow Jones Industrial Average moves lower on trade worries

From Aaron Hankin: U.S. stocks opened lower on Thursday, as concerns over the U.S.-China trade dispute linger. 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.24% opened the session down 0.1%, the S&P 500 SPX, -0.19% was off 0.2% and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, -0.29% was down 0.3%. President Donald Trump and China’s Xi Jinping are set to meet at the G-20 meeting in Buenos Aires, where the two will attempt to sooth tensions. Earlier in the session, economic data showed the number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits rose by 10,000 to 234,000 – a 6-month high.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DIA) was trading at $253.00 per share on Thursday afternoon, down $0.84 (-0.33%). Year-to-date, DIA has gained 3.12%, versus a 3.00% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period.

DIA currently has an ETF Daily News SMART Grade of A (Strong Buy), and is ranked #4 of 82 ETFs in the Large Cap Value ETFs category.
