Plenty Of Fuel To Power These Energy ETF’s Higher?

crude"Supply and demand is a constant issue for all commodities including oil. The current perception is that oil demand will increase with stronger economic activity and that stability within the broader U.S. economy might be on the horizon. The other half of the perception equation is that actual supply of crude seems to be falling. Data from the American Petroleum Institute last week showed U.S. crude inventories dropped more than expected," Ron DeLegge reports for ETFGUIDE.

Five Extreme-Rated ETFs

etf-newsWhen moving to the high end of the risk band, sometimes there can be a fine line between investing and speculating. Morningstar's ETF research team is not averse to taking risks if we think that the potential upside is significant. However, there are times when visibility is so uncertain that gambling may be a suitable alternative...... .....For some ETFs, though, the inherent risks affect many of the companies instead of just a select few. The list below contains some of the most unpredictable ETFs in our coverage universe. These could be choices for a very risk-seeking investor, or one who is willing to find the nearest roulette table and bet it all on red.

DOE Inventories Confirms EIA Trends (USO, OIL)

oildrumThe weekly DOE inventories confirmed the EIA data last night, and the data is about just as bullish for oil and energy prices.  The United States Oil (NYSE: USO) ETF and iPath S&P GSCI Crude Oil Total Return Index ETN (NYSE: OIL) are both responding positively in the initial reaction. Crude oil inventories fell 4.38 million barrels to 361.595 million barrels.  Gasoline inventories also came in lower by -1.553 million barrels at 201.649 million barrels.  We were looking for drops in these numbers, but Dow Jones had noted some consensus estimates as being -700,000 on crude oil inventories.  They also had gasoline inventories expected to show a gain of about 800,000 barrels. Infrastructure ETFs

infrastructureInfrastructure incorporates everything a society does to turn on electricity, build roads, establish communication networks, deliver water, and create and maintain sewage systems. The iShares S&P Infrastructure Index Fund (IGF) offers all-in-one access to the industry. However, volume has been light and performance has been shaky. The SPDR/FTSE Macquarie Global Infrastructure Fund (GII) has been less volatile. Yet, in my opinion, GII replicates utilities at the exclusion of energy and transportation infrastructure.
