Barclays Global Investors Buys Mexico’s Naftrac ETF Program

mexicoMEXICO CITY (Dow Jones)–Barclays Global Investors said Thursday that it has purchased Mexican state development bank Nafin’s Naftrac exchange traded funds program for an undisclosed amount.

In a press release, Barclays Global Investors said the deal makes its iShares family of ETFs the largest provider of ETFs based in Latin America.

Barclays Global Investors said Naftrac has been renamed iShares Naftrac……

……”In the coming months, we will intensify our efforts to develop and broaden our presence in Mexico,” Daniel Gamba, Barclays Global Investors’ director for Latin America and the Caribbean, said in the press release.
