Jim Cramer Rants About The Natural Gas Fund UNG

cramerThis evening, Jim Cramer spoke on the topic of the U.S. Natural Gas Fund (UNG), on his “Mad Money” show. He is upset about the potential share shortfall we wrote about yesterday in our article titled “ETF’s Explosive Growth Creates Share Shortfall (UNG).”  He rants about the potential for the fund to potentially manipulate the price of natural gas upward artificially using an analogy to a hypothetical pencil factory


 manipulating the price of wood and lead.  Although we are pretty sure pencils are not made with lead, the point is taken. He suggests (in theory) the more appropriate trading option would to be the First Trust ISE-Revere Natural Gas (FCG), as well as suggesting the SEC review exactly what ETF’s are allowed to track and how.
